Introduction to the Ignatian Exercises
“Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name, you are mine. Should you pass through the waters, I shall be with you; Should you walk through fire, you will not suffer” (Isaiah 43).
It is the inner conviction of Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit Order, that everyone of us has received a calling from God, as the Prophet Isaiah reminds us. God who loves us, has called us and wants to share life with us. In our lives, we hear so many voices. So it is essential to discern which voices are the ones who call us to life. It was a special gift of Ignatius that he taught us how to discern these voices.
In this introduction to the Ignatian Exercises, we are invited into a still and prayerful atmosphere which will help us to find our own daily rhythm of prayer, reflection and relaxation. Gospel passages will enable us to reflect our life. An individual meeting with the spiritual director will help the retreatants to look contemplatively at the movement of the Holy Spirit in their lives. The celebration of liturgy will inspire us to celebrate this God who has called us.
The course will be held in English.
